Live wedding music in Edinburgh

Solo acoustic guitar and vocals for the parts of the day you will actually remember — walking down the aisle, the first drink in the sunshine, and the night before it all begins.

No date or venue settled yet? Still worth asking — early is exactly the right time, and the enquiry form does not make you pick a date.

Ceremony music

Begin your special day with a solo ceremony set. I’ll perform a blend of laid-back covers as your guests find their seats, and then play your chosen entrance song, music for the signing of the register, and a joyful walk-out melody.

You have the freedom to select any songs close to your heart, even if they’re not on my usual repertoire, as I’m more than happy to learn and perform them just for your ceremony.

Drinks reception music and the turnaround

Congratulations & celebrations are in order — you’ve tied the knot! It’s time for your guests to pick up a glass of bubbly, mingle with friends and family, and soak up the atmosphere.

While you and your beloved are away capturing those beautiful moments with your photographer, and the room is being turned around behind you, let me entertain your guests with a selection of stripped-back acoustic covers.

You’re welcome to personally curate the music for your drinks reception from my current song list, or I can put together a couple of sets that reflect the style and atmosphere you envision for your special day.

Pre-wedding, night-before and day-two parties

There’s something special about the night before the wedding — the anticipation, the laughter, the friends and family reconnecting over good food and good vibes. Add live music to the mix, and it becomes more than a gathering — it becomes a memory.

If you’re staying at your venue for the full weekend, the night before is the perfect chance to unwind with your favourite people, share a few drinks, and ease into the celebrations. Whether it’s a pizza party, a welcome night, or any kind of pre-wedding get-together, live music brings the atmosphere to life.

I can keep things chilled and acoustic if you’re after a relaxed evening, or turn things up a notch if you fancy starting the party early. Likewise, day 2 celebrations are an extension of the party!

Common questions

Can we request specific songs?

PlaceholderDraft answer — written during the build, not yet corrected by Robbie

Yes. Most couples pick their key moments — the aisle, the signing, the first dance — from the song list, and I am happy to talk through what suits each part of the day on a free Zoom consultation before you book.

What if the song we want is not on your list?

PlaceholderDraft answer — written during the build, not yet corrected by Robbie

I learn additional songs on request for £30 per song. If it is the first dance, or a song that means something to the two of you, it is usually worth it — just give me enough notice to rehearse it properly.

How long do you play for?

PlaceholderDraft answer — written during the build, not yet corrected by Robbie

PLACEHOLDER — set lengths and break structure need confirming with Robbie. Typically quoted per package rather than per hour: ceremony, drinks reception, or both.

Do you bring your own PA and lighting?

Yes — PA equipment hire and lighting hire are included with every booking, along with a complimentary Zoom consultation. There is nothing extra to arrange with your venue for sound.

How much space and power do you need?

PlaceholderDraft answer — written during the build, not yet corrected by Robbie

PLACEHOLDER — exact footprint and socket requirements need confirming with Robbie. As a solo acoustic act the setup is compact and needs a standard mains socket.

Where do you travel to?

PlaceholderDraft answer — written during the build, not yet corrected by Robbie

I am based in Edinburgh and play across Scotland, with weddings further afield too. PLACEHOLDER — the travel radius and any travel charge still need confirming with Robbie.

Are you insured and is your equipment tested?

PLACEHOLDER — PLI (public liability insurance) and PAT (portable appliance testing) certificate details need confirming with Robbie. Many venues ask for both, so the real numbers and expiry dates should be stated here.

Anything not covered here? Ask me directly — there is no such thing as too early or too small a question.

No date yet? Get in touch anyway.

You do not need a confirmed date, a booked venue, or a finished plan for the day to send me a message. If you are still comparing venues, still narrowing down a month, or still working out whether you want music for the ceremony as well as the drinks reception — that is a good moment to ask, not a reason to wait.

The enquiry form takes “not sure yet” for both the date and the venue. Tell me roughly when you are thinking and what you would like music for, and I will come back to you. The good dates go a long way out, so even a rough idea of the season is worth an email.
